I've stayed at Hotel Seccy a few times. They have a variety of room sizes and prices..write to them directly and see what they charge for a single room.

I was there last in September. I shared a taxi from the airport to the hotel in Fiumicino with a European couple who were booked at a B&B near my hotel. I've got no. info on it, b ut it might be worthwhile looking at AirB&B or VRBo if you cannot find a hotel.

The best location is within the town of Fiumicino itself, not on the long- dreary stretch leading from the airport to the center of town.

I like the town so much that, last time, we spent 2 nights there..

Do you have a really early flight? If not stay in the city. These days $100 doesn't go very far for a hotel in Rome but they're might be something near Termini. Just tack on the €14 for the express train to the airport.

Or pick a hotel near the FL1 stations and take the FL1 to the airport at €8

The only reason to deal with airport hotels is if you have a VERY early flight.

Just understand that the hotels in Fiumicino town are not airport hotels.....The town is a popular place for city folks to relax on weekends and is lively during the week as well. One. of my favorite restaurants in Italy is in Fiumicino--Pascucci. (but pricey) https://www.pascuccialporticciolo.it

But there are many other good, far less expensive places to eat....you would never know you were close to a major airport once you arrive in the town.
The airport hotels are along the stretch leading INTO the town. Fiumicino is at the mouth of then Tiber River and there are lots of good seafood places as well as some of the best pizza I've had in the area. My point here is that the town is a fun place to spend a day or two. But staying near Termini might work, too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't have an early flight . . . I just want to relax from my 10-hour flight and see another part of Italy. I have been to Rome seven times so won't be missing anything by not going into.

Thanks again,
