Hotels is Prague
We are traveling to Prague in late May and would some recommendations on quality hotels. Thanks

The guidebooks had mentioned AVE Accommodations at [email protected] as having a better listing of hotels, penzions, etc. We emailed our requirements & they found a perfect place. Be sure to see the Charles Bridge at night!! Have a great time. Prague is a beautiful city.

We stayed for a week at the Pension Rippl in Mala Strana (west side of the river), Vlasska 30, in a square with two or three embassies. It's on one of the streets leading to the castle, and convenient to restaurants and interesting city life. It's a restored nobleman's townhouse, with charm and varying rooms. About $100 for a double. email: [email protected] if I recall correctly. Phone 420 2 537445. Not in guidebooks. Another place we like but have not stayed is the Julian Hotel, which appears to be a full service hotel, in more of a commercial and residential neighborhood, just south of Mala Strana. Email [email protected]. A little more expensive than the Rippl. Prague is very crowded. Reserve in advance.

It's a great trip. We also traveled by train and bus to Telc and Czesky Krumlov, which we recommend. Good luck.

Linda, I've heard good things about a new hotel called Hotel Charles, which is right near the end of the Charles Bridge on the Mala Strana side of the river. If you look at http://www.hotelsczech.com/, you'll find their listing. Another Fodorite stayed there last fall and emailed me afterwards to tell me how great it was. He said it cost about USD 87 per night (off season rate). In fact, to quote him, (I found his old email) "The Hotel Charles, in case anyone ever asks you again, is FANTASTIC. I very highly recommend it. As you said, the location is perfect..."

If you're looking in a different price range, let me know and I'll search my memory banks for other ideas.
