Hotels in Zermatt
Anyone know of any good 4 star hotels in Zermatt. We are going on our Honeymoon to Switzerland in September. We're looking for something in a cozy location, away from the main part of town and of course a view of the Matterhorn. A couple have caught my eye. Has anyone stayed at the Antares, the Berghof or the Schonegg??? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Erick

Good afternoon, Erick
have not stayed at any of those you men-
tioned, however have stayed at the Monte
Rosa and the Schweizerhof, my pick would
be the Monte Rose, has some rooms with
a view of the Matterhorn, is an older
but more elegant hotel...Have a good trip. I spend my honeymoon in Zermatt as well- 5 years ago. We stayed at a hotel in Zermatt called the Hotel Europe. I don't think it was a "4 star", but every bit as nice as a Sheraton/Hyatt. Meets the needs you described in your post. Great view of the Matterhorn from our room.

My wife and I stayed at the Monte Rosa in October. It is a wonderful, charming hotel with some great views of the Matterhorn. And, whether you stay there or not, be sure to visit Siv's Irish Bar in the hotel for the World's best Irish Coffee. -Dave-Safety Harbor, FL-

Erick,
We stayed at the Hotel Buttterfly last September and throughly enjoyed it.
It is off on a side street and was really quaint. Probably not a 4 star, but cozy with good accommodations. The Matterhorn is seen at the discretion of the weather wherever you stay.
Have a good time, Zermatt is one of my favorite places.
We also stayed at the Hotel Butterfly last fall, we were very happy there as well. Our room was quite large and had a nice balcony (no Matterhorn view however).

We had a lovely room (with balcony) at the Hotel Alpenhof.
