Hotels in Venice

I am going to Venice for a 3 night stay with my wife. This is both of our first time in Venice and need help finding a romantic, but afordable hotel in Venice near the major attractions. We are looking to spend approximately 100 to 125 euros per night in Venice. Any suggestions?

You might want to do a search for hotels on this site to get some ideas. We stayed at La Calcina on the Giudecca Canal (not the Grand Canal) and found it quite easy to walk to everything we wanted to see in Venice. The restaurant was good, too. It was less expensive than other comparable hotels. Just be sure you get a corner suite and not a standard room. We had one of those for one night of our 3-night stay and it was rather dingy and dark. The corner suite overlooked the canal and was much cheerier. (This is the canal through which the large cruise ships enter and depart each day.)

Depending upon the timing of your visit, (high or low season) here are a couple places that may fall into your price range -

Keep i nmind that Venice is rather small (provided youare staying on Venice proper) so just about any locaiton is near attractions.

The prices do vary depending on the time of year. When are you going?

To get some ideas, you can see what's avilable for your dates on Venere.com. You get search by location and sort by price. There are are some user reviews there. You can also read reviews i ntripadvisor.

A few years ago we stayed in a quad at Hotel FLora. It's a lovely little hotel, but may not be in your budget.

CleoB- I agree, and the recommendation of La Calcina is a good one, but the corner suites are not in their price range. The standard rooms are just fine and breakfast is included in the price.
