Hotels in Venice

Ok so I've heard a lot about Pensione Accademia and La Calcina but I need to reserve a room for April 28 - 30, 2004 and these places are probably booked. So where can I find last minute deals for nice hotels in San Marco or Dorsoduro.

laterooms.com specializes in last-minute availability, and sometimes has great bargains.

venere.com allows you to search for availability by date, but only the "Instant Confirmation" hotels are definites on-the-spot. The other hotels that appear will take a day or two to confirm that what shows up is still avaialable, so you may want to contact the hotels directly, and perhaps inquire at a few, in case one turns out to be booked after all.

www.hotelinvenice.com works in much the same way. Both this site and venere will show rates for your *total stay*.

Buona fortuna!

Try them, you never know about cancellations. The Ca' Pisani is another in Dorsoduro. In addition to laterooms, there's lastminute.com and wotif.com may do Venice.

I stayed at the Ala and liked it very much. You could try that.

take a look at the americana (or american) hotel in dorsoduro...we met a couple who were staying there in march and they said it was quite nice...the location is great..

We stayed at the hotel american (www.hotelamerican.com) in Dorsoduro 13 years ago and we're staying there again this summer. It's in a great location, easy walk across the bridge to St. Mark's. I just checked their website, and they do have rooms available. Good luck!
