Hotels in the Baviera
Hello everybody!, I am travelling with my girlfriend and mom to the Baviera at the begining of September for 9 days.Flight into Frankfurt, then rent a car for 7 days, heading south, to finish in Munich. I only have Frankfurt and Munich hotels reserved and would like to find two other places in between where to stay for a few days each. I really, really would appreciate any suggestions!!

Have you been reading any guide books or doing internet searches to see what you might be interested in? Even if this wasn't your first post it's difficult to know what types of things people like.
You may do a search on this board by typing in Bavaria. Have fun. |
I would skip staying in Frankfurt and head to Rothenburg or Wurzberg for the first night (or two). Continue on the Romantic Road to Schwangau to visit the castles and alps for a couple of days before Munich. Have fun.

Thank you for your inputs. We are all very much into history. Thinking in Wurzburg, Rothenburg, Nuremberg, Regensburg, Passau,Mittenwald, Augsburg. I have done a lot of reading but haven't been able to decide where to stay in order to avoid changing hotels daily.
I thought one place in the northern part of the Romantic Road and other in the Bavarian Alps. Does it make sence? |
I think it's a perfect plan. We visited Wurzburg in the morning and stayed 2 nights in Rothenburg, it was a charming little town. I'm glad we took the Night Watchman's tour in Rothenburg.

Sorry, it should read "sense"...:-)

Hi
I jus wanted to add another place to your plans. Worms, it is not touristed as much as some of the other places you've mentioned. It's a very old city, that was a celtic settlement, Roman town, very important during the medieval times. It's known for it cathedral and has the oldest synogogue surviving in Germany, dates to the 11th cent. I don't mean to confuse the issue, but its a bit southwest of Wurzburg, which is a great place to visit. Enjoy your trip. |
