hotels in Sorrento Italy

Has anyone heard of or stayed in the Europa Palace Grand in Sorrento Italy?
I will be in Italy May 23, 2002 and it appears my first choice hotel is booked. Travel tour company mentioned this hotel.

Any other suggestions for a hotel in Sorrento that is 3-4 star would be appreciated. Thank you

Frank,
my suggestion is for Imperial Hotel Tramontano.
It has also special offer for at least 7 nights.
Have a nice trip.

Hi Frank,

We stayed in the Grand Europa Palace for 5 nights last May and we loved it! It is only a couple of blocks from the main downdown area, so we could easily walk to everything. They also had a place to park our car, which is difficult to do in Sorrento.
The rooms were large and had balconies or terraces overlooking the Bay of Naples. I would highly recommend it.

Hi Karen

I am glad you were very happy with this hotel as we are now officially booked into the Europa Palace Grand. Do you know if they have a web site? Any chance you went to Florence- my first choice hotel Rivoli is also sold out so now the travel agent has suggested hotel Minerva any info on this hotel would be appreciated . thank you

Frank,

Sorry, no experience with hotels in Florence.
When we booked last year, the Grand Europa Palace had no web site, we communicated using fax.
However, I just did a Google search and it looks like they are online now.
Have a great trip.
