Hotels in Rome for $300 to $400 per night

I'm looking for a four (or maybe a five) star hotel in Rome for three nights, in May '04, and not pay more than $300 to $400 per night. We want to be close to the Spanish Steps, shopping, cafes. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Try the d'Inghelterra, a four star hotel just off Via Condotti.

I have stayed at the Westin Excelsior (five star) on Via Veneto. Excellent location, just a short stroll to the Spanish Steps and lots of cafes in the vicinity.
A friend of mine stayed there recently and was delighted.
He got it at around € 300.-.

The Intercontinental is at the top of the Spanish Steps. Check their website for good winter package rates.

I would suggest considering the Minerva.

Best wishes,

Well, I have to suggest two:
-My favorite, La Residenza, in a nice part of town near Via Veneto and a short walk to the top of the Spanish Steps. I've always considered it to be a four star because it has every amenity you'll need. Don't know what the official raters call it. It'll cost a good deal less than your allocated budget range.
-The Hotel Eden, just around the corner from La Residenza, a bit tired looking on the outside but a legitimate 4 star hotel with an outstanding restaurant on the top floor, overlooking Rome through all glass walls. Its price will fall more into your range.
Good luck.

We are staying at the Regina Hotel Baglioni on the Via Veneto in January. I believe we are paying about 350 euros per evening. Good luck planning!

Go to www.travel.it and click on hotels with their own website. It's a wonderful website.

In my humble opinion, I'd advise against the Hotel Eden. I think it topped my list for the most overrated hotel I have ever stayed in.

Good luck with your choice!
