Hotels in Rome

Any suggestions for a hotel in Rome? Would like to be within walking distance of a train to go into the center. Looking for something under $200/night. We will be there for 2 nights later this month.

Look at Hotel des Artistes. They might be in your price range. The rooms I have stayed in are really big by Italian standards. It is near Termini.
Have fun

I put in two ramdom dates in late September, and Venere.com showed lots in your price range, some with excellent reviews. I used Termini/Esquilino as an area, since you mentioned easy access to trains.

For that price you'd probably not be able to look in the centro area. Perhaps Roma Termini or in Prati/Vatican. Both are well connected by bus and metro.

These links may give you some options. They contain the best ranked hotels by booking and venere .com guests. They also have a link at the bottom where you can rank by price. Good Luck in your search!

Have you considered staying in a Convent? Stayed in both Piccole Suore della Sacra Famiglia near the Vatican Museum entrance and the Villa Rosa near the Circus Maximus. Both were under 90E per night, extremely clean, and located near public transportation. The Santa Susanna website has info on these and other convents and monasteries in Rome. We enjoyed our stay at both and it's hard to beat the price.
