Hotels in Rome
I would use the search box to find previous posts on this subject but my Internet is going so slow . . .
Which area(s) would you recommend getting a hotel in Rome where we will be w/in walking distance to most major attractions? Are there any hotels you would recommend in the price range of 80-140 euros? Thanks, April |
What time of the year and for how many people. The prices vary considerably based on those things.
The historic center, near Navona, Pantheon and Fiori is the best area to stay, but hotels may be pricier there. Trestavere is a nice nieghborhood to consider, where hotel prices may be more reasonable. |
Oh - we will be there in August

Take a look at Hotel Panda and Hotel Julia.

Hotel Arenula in the ghetto is in your price range. We rented an apartment nearby and loved the area, both the interesting neighborhood and the central location. There are lots of reviews on trip advisor to give you a sense of what it is like.

We stayed at Hotel Teatro di Pompeo,(www.hotelteatrodipompeo.it) which is within a one minute walk of the Campo de Fiori and 5 minutes from Piazza Navona, for a week in August. The location is excellent and we walked to all the sights except the Vatican - we took a bus there. Breakfast is included and is served in the basement of the building which is part of Pompei's theatre. Our room was 150 Euros a night and included private bathroom, AC, fridge and hairdryer. The staff were very pleasant and we thought the hotel excellent value for money.

August is low season for Rome so you should be able to get a discounted rate. Just a heads up that some hotels that might appear out of your price range... might not be :-)
