Hotels in Paris
 

Heading to Paris in November and having a very hard time finding a place to stay. Does anyone have any suggestions for a hotel that isn't too expensive and where we can have all 3 of us (myself, my husband, and our 20 year old daughter) in the same room?

Can you give us a more specific amount you would like to spend?

But not knowing how much you are wanting to spend I cant really provide many suggestions.

Would like to keep price below $200 a night

Hotel La Bourdonnais has a triple room. Sometimes you can catch a special that might put it closer to $200 (but certainly not below). I stayed here a few years ago and it was a friendly, very clean spot. Quiet in the evenings and very close to Ecole Militaire metro. Easy to stroll over to the Eiffel Tower in the evenings, too.

Do you know what area you want to stay in? In the Marais, try the Hotel Castex or Beaubourg or the Hotel Paris France would be a good pick:

Look at the Hotel Familia. We liked the lcoation (Latin Quarter, but quite close to the 6th).

They have triple rooms, according to the website.

How about Hotel Louis II? In Saint Germain area - near the Odeon. www.hotel-louis2.com. It gets great reviews on Trip Advisor - and the rates are very good.

I forgot to mention that last November we stayed in this apartment on Rue de Buci with our 18-year-old granddaughter. It was perfect for the three of us.

We've had a triple with our daughter at the Hotel Palais Bourbon. We were happy there, although DD recently told me that the manager was flirting with her in the elevator. No sin, I guess; she is cute.

I also recommend Hotel Louis II but I think you will pay more than $200.night. They do have a junior suite on the top level (I think), that might work.

The hotel is very clean.

They are very nice and the staff speaks good English. Above all, the location is fantastic!! Right around the corner from the Odeon metro stop.

A less expensive option is the rue Pecquay apartment from rentparis.com. Three of us stayed there and were very comfortable. Don't know if it is available for your time frame.

Go to Priceline.com and bid. On my last two trips to Paris (2007 & 2009), I stayed at the Marriott Rive Gauche for $85 a night and the Novotel Tour Eiffel at $108. The Marriott is in the St. Germain-Monparnasse area 8, and the Novotel is in the Eiffel Tower area 4. Check Betterbidding.com and Biddingfortravel.com if you are unfamiliar with using Priceline. They can give you bidding suggestions/amounts and also give you bidding advice. I liked the Marriott best of all. Not centrally located near the big tourist areas, but I walked to Notre Dame and the Lourve from the hotel. It is always worth my time to spend an extra 10 minutes on the metro to save $100 bucks a night.

I always like the Hotel Odessa near Montparnasse. Their triples and quads around around 120 euros per night. I just booked an amazing deal for December at the Ibis Paris Place D'italie 13ème for 57 euros per night for a 2 of us. It is a 3 night deal that has to to cover a weekend, so don't know if it would work for you. But I am excited, even though it isn't my most preferred area at Porte d'Italie, it is convenient to where we will be going that weekend. Ibis is one of the lower end Accor places, so pretty standard but this one gets pretty good reviews on the web and the price can't be beat. I booked it on the Accor site if you are interested to take a look.

Hotel Lyon-Mulhouse on the eastern edge of the Marais is nice. We stayed there some time ago, and their website has a triple (in which we stayed) "from 130 Euro" -- depends on when you book, no doubt.

Not sure what it's like now, but worth a look. The folks who ran it were really nice then - October, 2001.

For what it's worth we stayed at the Eiffel Seine Hotel in September and were very impressed. It's well within your budget, the metro and RER are just across the road, the seine is a stone's throw away, the Tour Eiffel is 5-7 minutes walk away and best of all there are restaurants, bakeries and a supermarket nearby. As you probably guessed we loved our 5 night stay here.

I think, in bidding for rooms, you cannot specify a triple room so that really is not an option for you.
