Hotels In Paris...?
I am an 18 year old female who is going to Paris for vacation in April of 2005. I was curious as to when would be the best time to book a hotel there...? Also, I need to know if there is any inexpensive nicer hotels in a good area. I was hoping for something within walking distance of all the major hot spots. My budget is that of a higher paid college student and I'm not willing to stay in a hostel. And, when is too early to start booking? Please help! Thanks!

Ah, April in Paris/Chestnuts in blossom...
Unless you want to wing it and hope for some last-minute bargains, right now isn't too soon to start getting things nailed down. You should be looking for two- or three-star accommodations in the Latin Quarter (studentland). I prefer the more sedate Eiffel Tower area myself, having hit the hot spots as a student in 1963. The shoulder season ends in March, so you're probably going to have to pay $90 or so for a single. |
Be careful and alert, and as far as a hostel, my son came back with head lice.

Paris hotels usually charge for breakfast separately, that way you can accept it or go outside to a cafe instead. Here are some decent hotels in the 5th or 6th area. The prices are for a single - if you're traveling with someone, then a twin or double will cost a bit more.
Hotel due College de France 70-82 Euro http://www.france-hotel-guide.com/h75005college.htm Hôtel des 3 Collèges 69-110 Euro http://www.parishotels.com//Hotel_de...strict_en.html Hôtel Michelet Odéon 80 Euro http://www.parishotels.com//Hotel_Mi...cation_en.html Hotel St Jacques 49-75 Euro http://www.france-hotel-guide.com/h75005stjacques2.htm |
www.hoteldefrance.com - nice hotel in the 7me for 72 euros a night for a single.

My absolute favorite hotel in Paris -- especially when on a budget... but even when not, the location is wonderful. Small lobby, small rooms, but quiet, clean, safe. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION.
Hotel Riviera 55, rue des Acacias 75017 Paris tel: +33 01 43 80 45 31 fax: +33 01 40 54 84 08 [email protected] In late October last year I paid 47 €, + 5.50 € for a standard continental breakfast tray (deliverd to room or eat in small dining room) Beautiful part of town, 2 blocks from Arc-de-Triomphe/Etoile (and Metro/RER), 1 block from large FNAC (books, music), 3 blocks from wonderful street food market, commercial stores, restuarants. This is the Paris of the Parisiens, if you like that. Staff speaks English. Rick from Maryland. |
Try Grand Hotel Jeanne d'Arc in the Marias. Address is 3, rue de Jarente. metro is close, area is wonderful (nice boutiques & cafes) and you can walk to Seine. A single is around 55-65 Euro, call them at 01 48 87 62 11
or fax the hotel at 01 48 87 37 31 |
