Hotels in Ostia Antica?

Are there any hotels in the Ostia Antica area? We have rerouted ourselves so we leave from Rome and fly directly back to the USA, but we don't have a hotel lined up. We thought we might visit Ostia Antica the day we arrive back in Rome and then stay somewhere in the vicinty. It will be hard to not return to beautiful Rome and the many choices for restaurants!

We went to an airport hotel after visiting Ostia Antica; we flew home the next morning. OA is very neat the airport.

Why not stay in Rome. Its a short trip from termini to ostia Antica on the metro and then spend the evening in Rome.

We are staying here: http://www.bbluanainn.it/italian.html the night before we leave. We had the same idea. This B&B was recommended by someone either here or on slow travel -- I forget which. They said the people were very nice. It's a family-run place. And the price is right!!

I agree that if you love Rome, it is easy to make a day trip to Ostia Antica -- which is a fabulous site, very rewarding to visit.

There is a historic but very simple restaurant called Il Monumento in the borgo of Ostia Antica itself, about a 10 minute walk from the train station that servies Ostia's ruins. It's open for lunch and dinner, but closed Mondays.

Any hotel at the Ostia Antica i visited (yes superb sit on par IMO with Pompeii) would have been a few thousand years old - i saw nothing in Ostia Antica that was still standing intact. Nothing nearby though i assume there is a modern city somewhere. Yes leave your bags at the baggage depot in Rome's Termini station and hop the metro for the short trip to Ostia Antica and back and then head out to the airport for a hotel if that is crucial to you, say for an early flight.
