Hotels in or near Munich for octoberfest
 

Hi- I would like to get a few hotel or guest house/inn recommendations for Munich in early October. Would consider staying in a nearby town with convenient train access to the city.
Looking for budget to midrange.

You should just start on booking.com and see what is available. Those rooms book far in advance

I agree with flpab. Recommendations are useless in this situation--you need to pick from what is available.

We've stayed IN Munich for the period and we've stayed in Augsburg which is an easy rail ride away. Hotels, as stated above, can book up a year out for this thing.

Last year, we stayed at Hotel Augusta in Augsburg and took the train to Oktoberfest. Worked out just fine, and Augsburg was a pleasant surprise.
