Hotels in Nice and Paris

Hi. Hoping for a recommendation for a hotel in Nice for 13 September within about 1 km from the old town and preferrably near the sea. Also a hotel and locality in Paris for a 24 hour stopover, easily accessible to public transport to and from CDG aiport.A French lady I know recommended St Michel for the location? The budget is hopefully about EUR 80

Thanks in anticipation

i have had good luck with the Libertel chain..they have hotels all over paris...small botique hotels....check them out...also best western is a good deal in europe---also individually owned hotels using the BW tradmark...

near the ocean in nice may be more than your budget....we stayed up on the hill last time in a BW that is no longer a best western....it is called le petite palais....it is small and quite nice--good location

I think the West End Hotel in Nice may fit your budget. Also look at La Perouse & Hotel Windsor. Otherwise try the Hotel Welcome in Villefranche which is not far from Nice.

Hi Doug,
Some thoughts on your hotel in Nice...if your budget is EUR 80 per night, then Hotel Perouse, West End and Hotel Welcome are out of your budget. I'm not familiar with Hotel Windsor. You could look at the Nice Mercure Marche aux Fleurs, a small hotel near the castle and old town that gets good reviews and runs about EUR 90. Near that is my favorite hotel, Primotel Suisse. I recently stayed there and paid 120 Euro. Both are minutes from the old town and across from the beach.

Doug,
Hello. My wife and I were in Paris last month, and stayed in the 6th district with a similar travel budget. We found a wonderful hotel near the "Gobleins" metro station. The name of the hotel is "Comfort Hotel Rive Gauche" and it is in the 6th arond. You may book rooms online at www.comfortinn.com. We got a promotional special of $74 per night. The hotel was a beautiful 3 star hotel with air conditioning! It was a 5 minute walk to Rue Moffetard, a narrow, cobblestone street with great restaurants and shops. Good luck!

Ibis hotels, comparable to our Holiday Inns, have modern rooms with nice amenities. Rooms run about 70-85 euros. they are good if traveling by train. One in Nice is on the seafront and another right on the platform at the Nice AVe Thiers (main) train station. They are all over Paris (one is 2 minute walk from Gare du Nord and Gare du Est), French cities and all over Europe. www.ibishotels.com.

Thanks, guys. Great response!

I'm sure I'll come up with a good result from all of this.
