Hotels in Milan
 

I am looking for a hotel in Milan for a 1 night stay in the $100 range. Any good suggestions? It should have a bathroom. I'm not looking for 5 star, just someplace clean <BR> <BR>thanks

Robert: I'm going to Milan next month for the 1st time so I have no personal hotel recommendations. But you might try and narrow down a good location for yourself with more info. Such as: Are you arriving by plane and leaving the next day by train so the Centrale train station area or arriving by train and leaving by plane but perhaps want to take the express train to the airport or arriving and departing by auto. I chose a hotel close to the Centrale train station myself as I'm arriving by plane and taking the bus to the station and leaving very early on the 3rd day by train. HTH Regards, Walter

Don't you mean "I'm not looking for a 2 star" instead of a 5 star. You're a little off in pricing for Milan, which is a major and expensive city. Sure you could find a "dump" for around $100, but if it has a star at all I'd be surprised.

Robert - I stayed at the Hotel Canada 3 years ago, and it was okay. 2-star, nothing fancy, but clean. $100 for the night single rate, which room was actually a double. Easy to get to by metro from Centrale, which I wasn't going to get on, but the lady at the info desk convinced me it was easy, and it was. About a 5-10 minute walk to the duomo. Cab to Linate was around $12 and under 15 minutes. Phone number (I think country code is 39) is 02-58304844, fax is 02-58300282. Don't know if they have a website.

Try the Spadari al Duomo. They have a web site if you do a search. They may give you a price of $100 for off season, if there are no trade shows in town. Very nice hotel. Also the Swiss Hotel looked OK when I walked by, but I did not stay there. Both are downtown nead the Duomo which I would reccomend more than by the train station.

Hi Robert!!! <BR> <BR>I just stayed at the Hotel City which is a Best Western Hotel. It is a three-star hotel that cost approximately $75US a night for 1 person, breakfast included. Look it up on the Best Western Internet site for special rates. That's where I found this one. Any questions, just E-Mail me. <BR> <BR>Ross. :-)

Hi Robert, <BR> <BR>I stayed at Hotel Ada, Via Sammartini 15, 669-826-32 and it definitely was not a dump. Our room (207) had 2 twin beds, full bath, wardrobe, desk, and an extra murphy bed (pull out/down double bed in wall), phone, good lights, color TV w/remote. Our room (and probably 208) had a huge balcony. It was 120,000/night ($74 inc. breakfast--coffee, sweet rolls). <BR> <BR>It's very near the train station and right next door to a police sub-station. To get there: With back to the tracks, go out into the main hall and go right towards the Information Center, go down the escalator and out the door, cross the street and go right to Sammartini, you can see the sign for Hotel Ada on the left. Great small penzionne. <BR> <BR>Sandy
