I would recommend this hotel. We were at hotel on my brother in laws birthday and they brought a tiramisu cake with candle for him at the breakfast buffet. It was huge and all four of us had some. We did not arrange it so we figured they got it from his passport. They had blood orange juice and when waitress realized I knew what it was and had lived in Sicily she said not to drink it she went and made some freshed squeezed orange juice from blood oranges.
Yes it was not Venice and I have stayed in Venice but I liked my stay better in Mestre. Didn't have to hassle with luggage on overcrowed boat, and since we had a car(it was cheaper keeping car than renting twice) they had guarded parking 7 euro at hotel and I did not have to worry about car in public lot not to mention cost. I think it was 1 euro to take train into Venice.It was about 10 minutes.
