Hotels in London
 

I am looking for a reccomendation for a nice hotel in a good area in London for February.

It would be very helpful if you could give us a little bit of an idea of what you want and what you consider a good area. In the theatre district? In an upscale residential neighborhood? Near shopping? And are you looking for simple and clean two star for 75 pounds or a deluxe 5 star at 500 pounds or so?

Have you read the Rants and Raves section of this website? That is a good place to start. There are also several previous threads that discuss this topic- you should those first.

Many people here would say that there really aren't any 'bad' areas in London. You don't list any essential room requirements- do you want to be close to shopping, sights, museums, the tube. Do you have a budget?

If you provide additional details that would really help.

Since I have never been to London, I not sure of all the questions to ask. However, I am interested in a hotel close to Buckingham Palac, clean and moderate priced.

One more question to help me get more acquainted with London. What part of London is Buckingham Palace in (i.e. Hyde Park, Paddington). What area of London is close to Buckingham Palace.

The key to picking a hotel is how close it is to a subway station. The tube is the fastest and least expensive way to get around the areas you will want to visit.

If you wish to look for something close to Buckingham Palace, look at Victoria. You will probably pay more than in some other areas, like Kensington or South Kensington
