Hotels in Ljubljiana
 

We are taking the train from Venice to Ljubljiana and will be staying 2 nights there. Anyone have a recommendation for a hotel?

I recommend Hotel Emonec highly. The location is fabulous. Can be a bit loud at night and is not luxury, but very good.

We just got back from a Slovenia and found a charming little hotel with a great location. We prefer smaller hotels and the Antiq Hotel (telephone 3861-1-4213560) or (www.antique-hotel.com) is a beauty with just 10 rooms in the old town section.

We had a very large double room with large bathroom over looking a quite square for around $109.00 Euro. A bargin considering what the rest of Europe costs. Everyone spoke very good English and was very helpful.

You did not indicate whether you wanted budget or not. We stayed at the Grand Hotel Union last fall. The location can't be beat and it is a lovely, classic old-style hotel. They are only a block off the main square and the bridge to the old town. Despite that, it was still quiet. The staff is very pleasant. We had no luggage (thanks to United Airlines) and they let us use their hotel phone for many calls to the U. S. (rather than dialing from our room).
