hotels in italy
we are going to tour italy and staying in the following hotels. if anyone has any comments on the service of these hotels will be greatly appreciated. thanks.
ROME Pineta Palace (ST), FLORENCE AREA Europa (ST) at Signa or Meridiana (ST) at Florence, LAKE MAGGIORE Simplon (F) at Baveno or Splendid (F) at Baveno, VENICE AREA Poppi (ST) at Mira, PERUGIA Holiday Inn (F), SORRENTO Central Park (ST) at Massalubrense |
Am not familiar with any of these hotels but did check 1 or 2 on tripadvisor.com.
They appear to be modest hotels primarily used by tour groups (you are going on a budget tour?) located outside of the towns you are "staying in". You might want to check out ther reviews there - or look them up on venere.com to see what info is available. Just don;t look for the "stop" town - ie Sorrento - because the hotels aren;t in them - but in the nearby towns listed afterward. |
This has to be a tour---the hotel locations are not what I would pick.

Just double-checked on the hotel in Rome. It is apparently several miles out beyond the Vatican - nowhere near any tourist attractions.
While reviews seems to be OK there were complaints aobut how long it took to get into the city - and how inconvenient the location was. If you have an all-inclusive tour - in which they fill every day and you don;t need to do any travel for sights or meals on your own it may be OK. If you have have free time I would count on spending $$ on cabs to get to see/do/eat anything in tourist Rome. |
If the hotels are not in the center of the old cities, I'd suggest you look for other lodging if possible. You don't want to be several miles past the Vatican in Rome. You'd miss the spectacular feeling of that ancient city at all hours of the morning and night. Same is true of the other cities. Do you have a choice in hotels?
