Hotels in Grenada
Has anyone ever stayed at America, Alambra Hill? I can get a room there for beginning of April. Is it better to stay on the Alambra grounds or downtown where there are restaurants?
|
I didn't stay at the America, but it is next door to the Parador and on the Alhambra grounds. It is supposed to be a charming little place.

How long are you going to be in Granada? If only for one night, it would be convenient to the Alhambra so you can visit first thing in the morning. If more than one night, I'd personally prefer to stay at the bottom of the hill where there are restaurants and more activities. It's pretty quiet on top of the hill at night so unless you just wanted to eat dinner at the hotel I'd stay closer to the Plaza Nueva. There are frequent buses that go up to the Alhambra and it's very convenient.

Try Hotel Guadalupe, right at the entrance to the Alhambra. We were there last week and it is very nice, clean and reasonable (at this time of year we paid 50 some euros and had a view of the Alhambra).

Hostal America is fine, well located and charming.
Hotel Guadalupe is nearer the Genarlife Gardens - good buy
Alhambra Palace has a great bar with a balcony looking over the city.
The Parador San Francisco is in most demand.
But if you don't want to spend that much and want to be right on the hill stay at the Hostal America

Grenada = Island in the Caribbean.

Granada = city in southeast Spain.

Alambra = ?

Alhambra = Royal Moorish Palace in Granada.

...oops, you're right about the spelling. Didn't realize it - Granada
Thanks for everyone's advice.
