Hotels in Geneva and Zurich

Does anyone have any suggestions on hotels in Geneva and Zurich that are close to the train station? My husband and I will be visiting soon and we would appreciate any input. Thanks, Renee

Both Geneva and Zurich are quite small and have good and cheap public transport, so it is not really necessary to be near the train station. Run a search here as hotels, esp in Zurich, have been a popular question. If you can’t find anything, post again here with your budget.

I stayed at this one in 2003 and found it to be relatively quiet and within walking distance with a backpack (1/2mile or so)
Hotel Leoneck

Plan to try this one next time, just a few meters less walking and a few francs less in price
Hotel Arlette

Hi Renee, I've stayed at the Suisse Hotel in Geneva twice. It's right across the street from the train station and about 3 blocks to the lake. Perfect location if you need to catch a train in the morning. Very clean and comfortable.

For Geneva are you wanting the downtown Geneva train station or the train station at the Geneva airport?

ive recently been to the Mon Repos in Geneva. Nothing fancy but quiet surrounding and a nice 10 min walk to the train station.

Baur au Lac or the Widder in Zurich, great food, easy walking, and a very nice city.
