Hotels in Florence
We are heading to Florence - last minute - for 3 nights next month - 18th - 21st.
There are not many affordable rooms left. Does anyone have any feedback on the following hotels or recommend anything else? Hotel La Residenza http://www.laresidenzahotel.com/en/ La Casa dei Tinto Relais Florence Hotel There are 3 other hotels at a bit of a reach $ wise: Hotel II Guelfo Bianco, Hotel Beacci Tornabuoni, Rezidencia Il Villino. |
Have you tried the Hotel Casci? It's a hotel that's frequently mentioned & recommended on this forum >>>

Also, here's a post that may be of assistance. Good Florence Hotel, Centre of town >>> http://www.fodors.com/community/euro...f-florence.cfm |
Hotel Casci is sold out.
I recently heard back from Il Villino which seems popular on here for a decent deal. Any better suggestions? And comments on the hotels above? |
miktravels:
If you type in "Hotels in Florence" in "Search the Forums" above you'll get loads of info and advice. I really loved the 10 nights I spent at Hotel Il Guelfo Bianco in 2009. A few doors down, also on Via Cavour, is Hotel Casci, which many on this forum have praised. |
JBX - the link to the thread you posted about talks about Hotel La Residenza - any other feedback? It seems almost too good to be true for the price.

Il Villino is terific---grab it.

If you mean Casa dei Tintori, http://www.casadeitintori.it/en/, we had a wonderful experience there two years ago. The place was clean and beautiful, and the hosts went above and beyond, including spoiling my daughter with chocolate breakfast pastries and treats when she mentioned she liked chocolate! Oh, and the location is great as well.

I stayed at the Hotel Beacci Tornabuoni and loved it. It has a roof top terrace that is so gorgeous and relaxing. it is centrally located too, lots of charm and individuality. i think one of the mangers is angelo and he is quite helpfu. - he has worked there over 20 years.

This is where i stayed:
http://www.residenzacasanuova.it/ don't know if they've got any vacancies; it's on the east of the city but only 10 mins walk from the Duomo, and Santa Croce. very comfortable, clean and very reasonably priced. |
I stayed at Hotel Casci last October and it was absolutely wonderful. I also made my plans last minute and was able to secure an 8 night stay. The hotel was booked when I first started my research. I did email the hotel at that time and was contacted by Paolo Lombardi (one of the members of the family that own the hotel)when a room was available. Carla and Paolo Lombardi take great pride in pleasing their guests. I cannot say enough good things abour Hotel Casci and highly recommend staying there.

We stayed at the Hotel Globus and it was fine. Not glamorous but nicely decorated, clean and in a great location near the market. We'd asked for a room with a view of the duomo and didn't get it but instead we were given a huge internal (therefore very quiet) room with a little extra room between the bedroom and bathroom, which we used as a big walk-in closet.
