any suggestions on hotels in Dublin...around 100 euro per night would be good.

also...any suggestions on day trips out of Dublin. We would prefer to take the train.

Cost of a room is approx 100 per night. I have had many relatives stay here and they all felt it very comfortable, in a nice 'leafy' area of Dublin and accesible to the city centre. I haven't had someone stay here in a while though.

We stayed at Cassidy's Hotel on O'Connell St. and liked it very much. Convenient location, and easy to get to and from the airport. They also have a great buffet breakfast.

We took the train to Kilkenny for a day trip, and we really enjoyed it. Kilkenny is very historical and charming, and it is home to the St. Francis Abbey Brewery, the oldest brewery in Ireland (and the brewers of Smithwicks!).

I'm going to be in Dublin for work and then taking a side trip to Kilkenny for 2 days/2 night. Any recommendations on what to do, see and eat? I'll be staying at the Hibernian hotel in the city centre.

I haven't decided if I'm taking the train or renting a car. How was the train and what did it cost? Do you recommend it?
