Hotels in Dublin
Can someone recommend a decent hotel with breakfast in Dublin. We will be staying for three nights.

Whats your price range - we stayed at the Fitzwilliam - its high end design and has very prefessional service - about £160 per night.

Hello!
I have not been to Dublin, but try looking at www.dublinby.com. This site is a booking agency that is part of worldby.com. I used them when I went to Italy and France and was pleased with all of my choices. You can search by area and the listings have photos and amenties along with the room rates. Good luck to you! |
Sorry! I gave you the wrong url -- it's www.irelandby.com. I apologize for the confusion.

Pkerner,
You might try Abberley House, http://www.abberleyhouse.ie/ or Azalea Lodge, http://www.azalealodge.com/index.htm. Slan Beo, Bit |
pkerner,
It would help others if you could give your price range and how close you'd like to be to the center. I haven't stayed in Dublin since 1997. I've stayed in Malahide and Portmarnock, both very pleasant stays. Good Luck, Joan |
I'm going to Dublin next month and chose the Grafton Capital, but there are SO many places and SO many fair to middlin reviews on TripAdvisor it definitely takes some digging to find some good places. Can't say how many I checked out before finally picking. I'd loved to stay at the Clarence but seems they can't accommodate 3 people in one room.

Easy question to answer.
Firstly unless you are very fond of your comforts a three star or less accommodation should be adequate. Ask yourself how close or far do you want to be from the city centre (usually a lot cheaper slightly out from the centre) Take advice or a list of suitable accommodations from either the official Dublin Tourism Centre or an official Dublin Tour Operator. Make the reservation yourself directly with the Manager/Owner that will be there when you arrive (preferably in writing/email) For a three night stay usually a 'multible night reduction rate' applies. Enjoy Dublin. |
Hope its not too late to add another comment BUT I've just returned from my trip and the Grafton Capital has a nice location and room but they have a disco in the basement with music going to all hours it was terrible. So - we should all remember to ask about any on-site bars/discos...something I never realized before.
