Hotels in Cinque Terra and Florence
You were all so helpful with my post a few weeks ago about Italy. Thank you!
We still need hotels for Florence and the CT. Can you recommend hotels in either location and list the approxiate price? We are finding hotels in the $400+ per night range, which is too much. We are open to B&B's as well. Thank you in advance! |
We stayed at Hotel Ville Belvedere in Florence a few years ago and would go back. It was outside of the city with fabulous views, large rooms, a lovely garden and pool, parking, a very helpful staff, and a great St. Bernard named Ben. Don't know what the rates are now, but am sure it's a lot less than $400.

Hi Gina817,
This past December I stayed four nights in Florence at Soggiorno Battistero. A reasonable B&B right in Piazza Giovanni. Except for the fifty stairs it was great. Good luck, Mike |
We enjoyed our stay for five nights in Manarola at La Torretta. We paid 100 euros a night, but I think some rooms were even cheaper.
cheers, CC |

Gina, Rick Steve's book is a bible to CT. Web site 5terre.it is great. We stayed at Trattoria Gianni in Vernazza. And a true deffinate for us. It's in the middle of the three. We liked Vernazza the best. Monterrosso too big. The others are perfect, but small. Vernazza - just right!!!.... When staying as many days as we did, we preferred the options. Caio!!

Best wishes on your upcoming nuptuals, Gina.
In Florence you might consider B&B Tourist House Ghiberti. (www.touristhouseghiberti.com) It is a small (5 rooms) but very high tech and modern B&B located 1 block behind the duomo. We stayed there three nights last May, and I can't say enough good things about it. Claudio and Christelle were very responsive to emails, and booked restaurant reservations prior to our arrival then reconfirmed them while we were there. Our room was spacious (and we had a king bed) and the bathroom was sparkling new. We had ample closet space and an electronic safe. The air conditioning (in-room controls) worked very well. Their breakfast was plentiful and fresh each day. My husband loved the high speed internet PC in our room, and we both enjoyed their jacuzzi. They provided comfy bathrobes to wear between our room and the jacuzzi & sauna (we didn't use the sauna). Claudio would have burned a CD for us of all the pictures we had taken to that point in our trip, but I had forgotten to pack the necessary camera-to-PC cable. Also, their mini-bar prices for bottled water and soft drinks were lower than any we saw in the shops around Florence. |
www.cinqueterre.it has room rentals. We did this and stayed in Riomaggiore and it was fine. I agree with the early post though, Vernazza was the prettiest. Www.hotelpasqual.com is also a hotel I"ve read good things about in Monterosso.
