We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Victoria. Incredible views - I had asked for a corner room on a higher floor! Easy to get to, close to Matthais Church.

It might help to provide your budget.

We just returned Aug 10 . . . we stayed at the Intercontinental, got it on Priceline for $49 ($68 time all taxes, insurance was added in). You cannot beat this location . . . on the Pest side, right at the Chain Bridge, just a block from Vorosmarty Square and Vaci Utca. We could walk almost everywhere.

We did not get a room with castle view but could have upgraded for $15/night. We are only in the room to sleep/shower so our no-view rooms was just fine.

Hope this helps,

In June we stayed at the Marriott Budapest which we got by bidding on Priceline for $65. Our room had one wall of windows that looked out over the Danube. The view of the castle and Chain Bridge lit up at night was fantastic. All rooms in that hotel face the Danube. After winning the bid, we emailed the hotel directly and requested a room on a higher floor, nearest the Chain Bridge. To learn how to bid on Priceline go to www.biddingfortravel.com.

I, too, had a wonderful room with a gorgeous view of the Danube, Chain Bridge, and Castle at the Marriott.

Wow, what a deal at the Intercontinental!!!

We liked The Spoon which is a boat that is anchored on the Danube. Be sure to check out the restrooms.

We stayed at Hotel Pest and liked that hotel.

I enjoyed the Budapest Hilton, in Buda, next to the Matthias Church and Fishermen's Bastion. I had a fantastic view across the Danube of all of Pest, including Parliament and the Chain Bridge. It was also nice to walk around the charming Castle District in the evenings.

We ate here twice . . . Vapiano's, I. Becsi utca 5, block from Szervita ter & a block from Deak ter, M: Vorosmarty ter.

The portions were huge so we split a caprese salad and a pasta arriabata . . . I had wine, friend had Arizona Iced Tea and the total bill was about $20. On our second visit, we again had the salad and a pizza, that meal was about $18. This was a really fun place . . . every table had a pot of basil . . . and the food was delicious.
