Hotels in Bath

Need recommendations for nice hotel in flat area of Bath- easy walk to train and bus stations. Plan to use this as our center for 7-10 days, so large room with sofa or comfortable chairs is preferred. Have looked at Tripadviser, but always value personal experiences from this forum. Thanks.

7-10 days would be great for a holiday let. However, the best in Bath is Bath Holiday Homes. The prices are good and they have something for everyone. I have stayed in 4 different flats of theirs. They are professional. Celia is the owner, she is very business like but don't be put off she has some nice properties as well. Also for much more money in a great location with a great view etc... try VRBO...georgian bath Flat. It is $2000.00 per week.

Hotels in Central Bath have a huge price range. Top is Royal Cresent Hotel where anyone from Madonna to Princess Diana have stayed to Youth Hostels.

What price range and comfort level are you looking for? My parents live in Bath and I spend every other summer visiting with m family...hence the flat rentals!

We prefer self-catering and I was considering a flat rental. The cancellation policies are pretty inflexible, though, and due to some health issues I am hesitant to book so far in advance of a November trip. Considering the new SACO apartment hotel, but from the photos it looks more modern and sterile in decor than we like.

Just to interjet a touch of humor, the heading made me transpose it into BATHS IN HOTELS. Sorry, could not resist. Have a great day. Halfppint

I stayed at Villa Magdala several years ago and loved it.

Villa Magdala is a wonderful place. It is directly across the street from my girlfriends home and on Henrietta Park. Maybe 3 minute walk to the center of town and 10 minutes to the station.

Other places that are nicely located Carfax hotel, Duke's Hotel and Widsor Hotel on Great Pultney Street. All nice and clean ( but just rooms no furniture) with nice breakfasts but vary in price. ( 10 minute walk to train station. All flat walking.

I haven't been to SACO but the location is great! Good restaurants nearby and very central. It is about 15 minutes walk to the train station but a nice walk.
