Rome, Naples and Sorrento hotel recommendation

Looking for recommendations for hotels in Rome, Naples and Sorrento. We would like them to be placed in safe areas, not very hilly areas, with easy access to public transport. Free WiFi would be a plus.
Location: in Rome near Spanish Steps or Pantheon, in Naples and Sorrento not far from the train station, because we want to do day trips.
I would like hotel with lift and large room. Do not look for luxury rooms only for decent rooms; price around 150 Euro double room.
Thanks in advance for help.

If you don't want hilly areas, don't stay near the Spanish Steps in Rome. Not all of it is hilly, but it is simply easier to be somplace else (and certainly the Pantheon area doesn't pose any problems).

The train station area of Naples is simply one of the dreariest and most off-putting areas of Naples, and it is out of walking rang of the other sights of Naples. It is really not worth the "convenience" of staying near it to do day trips.

If you stay in near the Museum or the Piazza Dante, you will have an easy ride on the subway to the train station or an inexpensive taxi ride to the train station for day trips. If I can't talk you out of staying near the train station, then look up reviews of Mercure in Naples (there are two, so make sure you read reviews of the one near the train station).

If you use the Booking.com website, you can search for hotels by price range, travel date, wi-fi, elevator, and air conditioning if you are traveling in summer, and you can also read up-to-date reviews of these places.

If you get recommendations for hotels here, look up current reviews anyway.

Zeppole, thank you for advice. I shall follow your advice regarding Naples, for sure you are right.
Michael, I looked at B&B Medea, it looks really nice and has very good reviews. Thank you.

I agree to avoid staying near the train station - in all your cities.

The cost for a 5-10 minute taxi to/from the train station neighborhoods will be the best money you'll ever spend on your vacation.

Hotels in central, charming neighborhoods within your budget:

Naples - http://www.decumani.com/en/ Incredible value - huge, nice rooms in a great area for sightseeing. Highly, highly recommended.
