Hotels in Barcelona and Paris

We'll be going on a two-week trip to Europe in September. Will be in Barcelona Sept 12 -15 and then Paris Sept 15-18. Got any good hotel suggestions? In Barcelona, I know we want to stay in Ciutat Vella. In Paris, I have no idea where to stay. We like boutique hotels with character, a little of the finer things, but don't need luxury. What would you suggest for around 200 euros a night?

Check out Caron de Beaumarchais in the Marais--great area and very hip. We were going to stay here this May but decided on an apartment in the Marais. Love the location of this hotel.

In Barcelona, we have stayed in the Born district the last two years and love it. This hotel looks interesting and in a great location.

I have never gone to Barcelona but I can suggest you the Astra Opera in Paris which is very central. My friend found it very comfortable and very well located.

In Barcelona we stayed at Hotel Inglaterra. It's a very nice hotel, with great breakfast and central location (almost walkable to everything).

The restaurant in Banys Orientals (can't remember the name) is very good.

dontom, When it comes to Paris we like to stay all over the city and found this little adventurous hotel for our 11th July/Aug trip to Paris: http://www.hoteldelajatteparis.com/
Whether it falls into your 'Boutique Hotels' - that I can't say but we can't wait to get there!
What about staying somewhere Bohenian and with a terrific vibe?
We stayed here in May last year and loved the area:

Here are some of our photos of the hotel from last May 2009:Sorry, starts off with Cirque d'Hiver etc.,
