Hotels in Assisi, Perugia, Orvieto
 

Can anyone recommend hotels in the cities of Assisi, Perugia, Orvieto? They can be B&B's, Pensioni, Hotels, etc., doesn't matter.

It would help if you gave people more information such as price range.

In my opinion I think that Orvieto has beautiful places to stay as hotels, B&B or farmhouses. I stayed at the Farmhouse Conte Pompeo ( just 7 miles from Orvieto)www.contepompeo.it
and then at the B&B Valentina in Orvieto city centre.
We were attending few cooking classes with Velia as she was our guide and cooking teacher during our umbrian stay
Velia brought us to Amelia to visit Palazzo Venturelli (for a wine tasting )a wonderful historical palace transformed in hotel dated around the 15h century....www.palazzoventurelli.com

Locanda Rosati in Orvieto is a great place, but it's about 6-8 km on the outskirts of the city, and you would probably need a car. ((b))

<b>Albergo Duomo</b>, right in the center of Orvieto. Our window looked directly onto the duomo, which, combined with a full moon, is a pretty special sight! Absolutely quiet, too. A lovely hotel, at a reasonable price. Management is a little aloof/jaded, but that didn't affect our enjoyment of our stay.

In Assisi I can highly recommend the Hotel Subasio. It is very close to St Francis' and was very comfortable with great food.

We stayed at Hotel Umbra in Assisi. It was great, fabulous restaurant, right in the heart of town.

Here's another vote for the Hotel Umbra in Assisi. We had a wonderful view looking out over the countryside from our room, and the proprietors were very helpful. I just loved the place. We parked outside town, perhaps three blocks from the hotel, because driving inside the town was nightmarish. Cars simply don't belong in that beautiful village.

Our visit was in 2003, by the way, so perhaps someone who's stayed at Hotel Umbra more recently can confirm that it's still a great place to stay.

I just returned from a stay at the Subasio in Assisi and found it delightful. I can highly recommend it. The hotel is old (charming), of course, but the room had a balcony overlooking the valley and a completely up-to-date bathroom with all the amenities. The Internet computer in the lobby was free, and there was no commission charged on currency exchange. The staff was helpful and friendly.

We stayed at the Pallotta in Assisi. Nothing fancy but great location at a nice price.

We stayed at Hotel Umbra in 2004 and loved it. Our room had three windows overlooking the convent garden. It was very quiet and well appointed. There is also a rooftop terrace overlooking the convent. Breakfast was good with lots of options.

We spent a night at Albergo Duomo in Orvieto and loved it. Beautiful view of the spectacular duomo, lovely room, and in the center of the town. We had no problems with mangement as stated by LucieV.

If you get the chance when in Orvieto, seek out and try a restaurant called I Sette Consoli, you won't regret it!

Ralstonlan, please, I'm afraid you've misinterpreted my post! I very clearly <u>loved</u> the Albergo Duomo, and I did not say that I had problems with management! I simply said they were a bit &quot;aloof,&quot; which actually I'll take over &quot;obsequious&quot; <i>any</i> day. ;)

They were very professional, responsive, etc., and we would stay there again in a half of a half of a heartbeat! :)

want to be in the midle of a very unique city? Stay in Perugia on the top &quot;floor&quot; of the city..adjacent to Corso Carnucci...wonderful experience. We loved the Hotel Fortuna therein.
