Hotels In Assisi
Decided to make a one night stop in Assisi, can anyone recommend a nice hotel in the city area.
thanks |
Hello, kadurk You don't say when you are going, but why not stay in a monastery in Assisi? My wife & I will be there in October. The cost is about 65 euros & includes breakfast. If interested, email me for their name & email. Ken Lansing

I have stayed at both Fontebella and at Umbra, and I can recommend either without hesitation. Fontebella might be judged to be the slightly nicer, and offers free parking just steps from their front door, if you are arriving by car (which I also recommend).

Subasio Hotel is right next to the church. It is an old building and the outside is being renovated right now, but the rooms are nice, I had a nice view of the valley. The only downfall would be the bathroom, it was small and the shower wasn't the strongest, but others who have stayed there, didn't have the same problem. The dining patio is covered by grapevine and also overlooks the valley.
I don't really know what the rates are though, because I was there with a tour. |
I second the Fontebella. We had a very nice room there and hope to go back next year. Assisi is magical!

Ideale Hotel at the small fort end of town. Be sure to ask for a balcony room. http://www.hotelideale.it/inglese/home.htm |
I stayed at the San Francesco, 3 star. it has a great roof top terrace... great for sunset views, and views of the Basilica of San F. I hear good things about Hotel Umbra, but haven't been inside it.
