Hotels in Amsterdam-- t' Hotel
Hello all,
My wife and I are planning a trip to Amsterdam in Feb. Does anyone have any advice about hotels in the city? We are considering t Hotel and Agora --Does anyone have any experience with these hotels? |
Did you try trip advisor?

Hi S0upy,
't Hotel's website is: www.thotel.nl I stayed there in 2003 for 3 nights. Loved it. The location is wonderful - on the Leliegracht, a small quiet canal close by the Jordaan and handy to the downtown area without actually being in downtown. Lots of restaurants and antique shops in the immediate vicinity. I understand the management at 't Hotel has recently changed, but things remain mostly the same in terms of charm. The breakfast which was included was really nice - lots of breads and pastries and cheeses. By the way, if the management offers you the "apartment" around the corner, do insist on taking a look at it first - it's on the basement level of an old house and I thought it was cozy and den-like but way too dark. No elevator at 't Hotel - the stairs are the typical steep Dutch kind. The very nice (read strong and handsome) receptionist carried my bag for me, but I could have managed it myself. I recommend staying there. |
Thanks for the response!!
I am excited about staying at this Hotel. Dovima, how were the beds at this hotel. I am 6'6" (over 2 metres) and I am always concerned about bed length. Thanks, j |
Well S0upy,
I am shorter than you by more than a foot, so I am usually o.k. in just about any bed. I'd call them up - I'm sure it's not the first time they've been asked. By the way, I had dinner right up the block from 'tHotel at a very nice place called De Luwte. They had a prix fixe dinner for under 30E which I still savor in my mental taste buds. |
