Hotels in Alfama area of Lisbon
Hi all,
I have been trying to find hotel, B and B, guesthouse etc. in the Alfama area of Lisbon, or close to it, and seem to be having a problem. Lots of apartments, not too much else. I would appreciate any help you can provide. Budget is around 100 E. Thanks Pat |
Well. You do not say when you are going and if it is for a double or single.
Do ;you have to stay in the Alfama? Residencial Florescente is a great little guest house near Rossio, a great location by the way, and it will not be more than what you want to spend I don't think. Good luck. |
we are in Lisbon now. Not sure if you have been here before and what your tastes run to, but I would not stay in the Alfama - it was crowded, dirty and pretty noisy when we were there (granted the day before St. Anthony's but still ) it's very hot here now and climbing those streets every day would be rough (unless you are coming in a cooler time of year). We are staying at Hotel janeles Verdes for a little more than you quoted and it is a superb little hotel so you might want to check it out.

Thanks to both of you for your thoughts. We are there early October and just thought the area sounded interesting. I will check out your recommendations.
Any one else have any ideas? Pat |
It's a great area to visit on the tram. Get yourself something nice and comfy at a great price somewhere else, and tram up there whenever you like.

We stayed in an apartment in early October in Alfama and loved it.

Alfama was fun to explore, but I wouldn't stay there. It didn't seem as central as Chiada or Baixa. I just spent a week in Barrio Alto and loved it, but in an apt,so can't recommend a hotel.

Thanks all for your thought. We have booked a guesthouse fairly close to Alfama.
