Hotels Heraklion, Crete
 

We are visiting Crete in June could anyone recommend any of the following hotels: Kastro Hotel, Hotel Galazy, Hotel Atlantis, and the Hotel Arolithos -- We will be there the 9th thru the 12th or can anyone recommend any other hotel we want to spend $150 - $200 per night. Brotherly love can you give us any advice. Thanks

A few years ago I stayed in the Lato, which I liked. It's up on a hill overlooking the harbor, which means you actually get a nice view if you have a room on the harbor side (Iraklio in general is not a particularly attractive town.) It's both centrally located and fairly quiet, which is very rare in Iraklio. It's not luxury class though.

We will be there the last week in May, but my sister booked the hotel so I don't know the name. I'll find out and post later. The only thing I know for sure is that when comparing prices with her son she found out that we were charged as much for the 3 of us as her son, wife and 3 teens were paying at the same exact time. So she is calling to find out why.

We enjoyed our stay at the GDM Megaron in September. We called a few nights ahead and got a good rate somewhere in the neighborhood of $150-175.

Another vote for the GDM Megaron. We had a very nice room there last summer, and it is near the port, which is convenient if you're headed next to Santorini.
