hotels for venice stay
hi,I am new to this forum.Me and my husband are going to Italy for the first time in May and are going to spend 2 nights in Venice. I definately don't want to stay in Mestre, but how about staying in Murano and taking public transportation to Venice ? I found a neat litlle hotel there that
I really like at a good price. We are on a tight budget, but don't want to make a mistake as our time in Venice is very limited. Any ideas, please? |
What is it? and what is it rate? I predict that any number of people here can find you a better idea, located IN Venice, for the same price.
Perhaps look at www.eurocheapo.com Best wishes, Rex |
Hi
My wife and I went to Milan and Venice in June last year on a short vacation. We spent a few days in each city. We stayed at Hotel Continental over by the train station and we got a nice, big room with two windows facing canal Grande. Well, if you want more info on the hotel you can check out my trip report I have posted the report (with lots of pictures) on my personal homepage www.gardkarlsen.com :-) Maybe you can find some useful information there. Get in touch if you have any questions or comments. Regards Gard Stavanger, Norway |
Hi - am also a newbie to this column.
Isn't it great? Don't stay in Mestre or Murano. Since it is your FIRST time in Venice, my recommendation is to stay IN Venice, and preferrably in the San Marco area. For other recommended hotels, type VENICE HOTELS on the search button. You will get related threads. Other hotels centrally located: Hotel La Calcina Ca' Pisani Hotel Saturnia Hotel Flora etc |
We stayed at Hotel Gambero, between Rialto and St. Marks areas, for 110 Euro. It was a much better value than our comparably priced hotels in Rome and Florence.

Do a search on Locanda Fiorita; reasonable prices for a hotel located in San Marco district. Their website is http://www.locandafiorita.com
Another budget priced hotel is the Hotel Caneva; again, you'll find comments about it on this website. Also another resource for feedback is the Trip Advisor >>> http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Rev...70.hwoink_html |
