Hotels for Copenhagen/Stockholm/Berlin/Amsterdam
I will be traveling with two friends to the aforementioned cities in December and will need a hotel recommendation for each one. I'm used to book hotels - in the most cases - thru Priceline.com but this time it's 3 of us, so Priceline is not going to work (they only guarantee 2 people/room booked).
We have a budget of $120-$150/night and our basic requirements are: clean room & bath (no roaches), somewhat comfortable bedding, close to main attractions and public transport, safe neighborhood (can’t think of any other right now). We’ll appreciate your help with this!! |
First, I would try www.hotelscombined.com which searches through many very good booking engines all in one sweep, and then reports the price for each engine for all available hotels.
Second, look at www.hrs.de particularly for Berlin. Also, www.accorhotels.com . For Amsterdam, www.edenhotelsgroup.com . For Copenhagen, http://www.copenhagen-hotels.se/ For Stockholm, http://www.destination-stockholm.com/ Third, consider getting two rooms. With the Priceline prices for Amsterdam, for example, you would be hard-pressed to get a similar deal for one room that you could get for two. People could take turns being the "lucky" one. |
Versus:
The Kempinski on Ku'dam seems to frequently offer very attractive room rates. We were lucky to cop a $130 two years ago...and have since come across great Kempinski rates. Try them.(Advise you call the hotel directly...that's how we did it) http://www.kempinskiberlin.de/en/hotel/index.php In Stockholm, we have used the Best Western Mornington and were very satisfied with location (walking distance to Gamla Stan and the harbor/city hall, Royal Palace. Rats were within your range. http://www.mornington.se/Default2.aspx?lang=2 Copenhagen, I'm a fan of an all-women managed and staffed hotel, Ibsen's...also great location, close to Norreport terminal, and walking distance to The Strog(y)et. http://www.ibsenshotel.dk/uk-index.php We've stayed at The Seven Bridges on the Regulier canal in Amsterdam, but I've seen where their rates are beyond what you're looking for now.Again, you may want to try them. Excellent quiet location. http://www.sevenbridgeshotel.nl/ Have a wonderful trip! Stu T. |
<u>Rats</u> were within your range...
wow...talk about a typo!!! Sorry.... |
That was funny tower.... I thought "Thanks God it's only rats and not roaches... LOL!
Althought not something I would fancy, the all-women accomodation won't workk for us because it's two females and a male in this trip. Thank you for the suggestions! I'm going to start looking into them now!! |
I believe The Ibsen is run by women, but hotel guests are not limited to women.

Tower, is the Kempinski on Ku'dam in the Tiergarten area by any chance?
Someone mentioned this was a very tourist-friendly-convenient area. |
