Hotels: Dachau & Frankfurt airport
 

We'll be staying one night in town of Dachau in order to see the camp memorials next day. Can anyone recommend a safe (have been horrified by Nancy's Italy story), affordable hotel in that small town? <BR> <BR>Also, two weeks later, would like to drop car @ Frankfurt airport night before leaving; therefore need safe, cheap hotel either @ airport or nearby with shuttle. <BR> <BR>Appreciate your help! I can't help you with lodging around Dachau. However, the Steigenberger Airport is a really nice hotel (4 stars) within walking distance from the airport with shuttle service. The hotel is in a quiet wooded area on the road that leads to the back entrance of the Rhein-Main Air Force Base. Yet it is surprisingly quiet. The hotel offers a wonderful dinner buffet on an outdoor terrace - meats and fish grilled to order. Everything is freshly prepared. The Steigenberger is moderately expensive unless you book online. I got a rate of $129 per room including tax and service and breakfast. Rates vary depending on when you will be there. We are staying in Augsburg, just north of Dachau at the Hotel Bayernstuben. Can't remember exact cost, but we don't reserve expensive places. You can find them by going to [email protected] <BR>Also have a reservation at the Frankfurt Airport for Steigenberger Esprix Hotel. A double is 169DM. Hope this helps.
