Can anyone recommend a 3/4 star hotel near or on the the Place Catalunya. We are going there to attend a wedding and wish to stay in the centre.

Venere.com lists hotels by stars, price, location, and provides reviews. Good place to start. Also, look up maribelguides.com. H10 Plaza Catalunya seems popular.

Another good resource is Tripadvisor - will have many hotels and user reviews!

We just got back from staying at the Avenieda Palace Hotel on the Gran Via about a block from the Plaza de Catalunya. We loved it. Very central to many sites which we primarily walked to.

In April 2007 we stayed at the Apsis Atrium Palace and were very pleased with the hotel and its central location.

We recently stayed at the Avenida Palace and were very happy with it - would use it again. Comfortable, good location just a few minutes walk from Place Catalunya. We picked it more or less at random from a short list of hotels nominated on this forum by previous posters.
