Hotels

My husband and I are planning to visit Lisbon next year. Would love to stay centrally located with easy access to transportation and sights (and not touristy!) Can anyone recommend a small, clean, inexpensive hotel or B&B? Thanks.

Sorry I don't have a suggestion for you, but it's a pity that the posters who are really familiar with Lisbon may not look at your question and answer it because they are likely to think it is another Paris or London hotel question, and won't bother to open it. It would have helped you attract the Lisbon experts if you had posted a title like "Lisbon Hotels?"

Thanks so much. I will edit the posting. Appreciate the feedback.

I don't do Hotels. But a couple I met on a flight JFK-LIS was staying at the Mondial: I passed by there during my tourism and it is a great location. I have no idea how much it costs.

In Lisbon I stay at Residencial Estrela do Saldanha, Avda da Republica, 17. It's at the Duque de Avila exit of Metro Lisboa, Saldanha station: also a good location but for low budget travelers. Carlos Ferreira, co-owner/manager speaks English pretty well.

Joannck, one of my favorite hotels in Lisbon is the Tivoli. The people are great, it's in a great location for walking around the city. I've stayed there 4 or 5 times and have always found the service excellent. While this isn't a B&B it does have a lot of charm. Enjoy Portugal, it's one of my favorites, being married to a Portuguese and having lived there!!
