Hotel with airport shuttle service in Madrid

I will be staying in Madrid at the beginning and end of a 2-week trip. At the end of the trip I'll be taking the train from Granada to Madrid, spending one night, and going to the airport the next day. Does anyone know of any hotels near the train station that would have a shuttle to the airport? Would it be better to go directly to the airport area from the train station to find a hotel? Any help would be appreciated.

Don't know hotels that offer a shuttle, taxi rate from central Madrid to the airport is fixed at 30 euros .

Is your train going to Atocha station? I would stay at a hotel near Atocha station, then you can catch the airport bus that leaves from Atocha. I wouldn't get an airport hotel, their shuttles take longer than the bus from Atocha station does! Plus you can stay your last night in Madrid.

Ditto what rialtogrl said!

You never want to stay at an airport hotel when you can spend your last night in Madrid and enjoy the city. As noted, taxi rates are fixed.

I think you are getting good advice about staying in the city, but... It very much depends on when you are traveling and what time your plane is leaving.

The Atletico Madrid football stadium is due to open this fall. It is virtually impossible to get from Madrid to Barajas Airport without passing it. I will be very concerned about extended travel times to the airport on any game day from three hours before kickoff.

Jeff801, that is good to know about the new stadium. Most games are played at night, is that correct?

http://en.clubatleticodemadrid.com/ is the English web site for Atletico. While most games are in the evening, I often see them listed on my television schedule as playing in the early afternoon on weekends.

Because the flight from Bordeaux to Madrid arrives at 20:00 and we had an early flight eastward last December, we stayed overnight at the Hilton. It is a good commercial property with a very good breakfast. But, from the executive lounge, the nearly completed stadium exterior really dominates the skyline.

For those worried about the traffic, Cercania goes to T4, from there - a bus to other terminals.

The hotels around Barajas airport have shuttles. In town, there are hotels close to the airport metro or to the airport bus stations.
I usually book at Hôtel Novotel Madrid Campo de las Naciones, 1 metro station from the airport (in the other direction, the metro goes to the city center).

You have been beyond helpful! I so appreciate the information. We wanted to spend our last night in Madrid, so the bus from the Atocha station sounds good. I had not heard about the stadium so that is great information too. I believe our flight leaves in the early afternoon. Again, thank you so much.
