Hotel with a view of Eiffel Tower for honeymoon
Hello..
me and me wife to be are planning to go to a romantic honeymoon. We are looking for a great hotel overlooking the Eiffel Tower. We dont exactly know what is our budget but we can spend enough for a REALLY good hotel. does anyone know a good hotel? |
There are many wonderful hotels in paris - but few of them have any view of the Eiffel Tower - which really isn;t in the center of things.
Are you more interested in this view? Or in staying in a really nice hotel (in Paris this will be at least US$800 per night)? |
There aren't any hotels in Paris that are "overlooking" the Eiffel Tower. It sits in the midst of a huge park, the Champ de Mars. There are some hotels with a view of it. I often stay in the Hôtel Duquesne-Eiffel, which has a few rooms with views of the tower. It's a very nice hotel, but I wouldn't call it REALLY good, as in REALLY expensive.

The reason hotels don't overlook it is there are not many skyscraper hotels in Paris, unlike other cities. And the few I can think of aren't near the Eiffel Tower. Most hotels in Paris are relatively low, you probably didn't know that (around 6 stories usually) and even the modern ones aren't super tall towers. Now if there were one in the Montparnasse tower, that would work, but there isn't a hotel in there.
The closest one I can think of like this would be the Novotel Eiffel Tower, you can check it out http://www.novotel.com/fr/hotel-3546...el/index.shtml There is a Hilton right next door, but I'm not sure what kind of views you'd have from it as it is so close, but you might read reviews on that, maybe it would work. If you want a REALLY good hotel, you might look into the penthouse suite at the Hotel Pont Royal which could have a view of the Eiffel Tower, it's a good location and hotel, anyway. http://www.leshotelsduroy.com/en/hotel-pont-royal If that's too much, check out the 4* Hotel Tourville not far from the Eiffel Tower, I think it has special view rooms you can book http://www.paris-hotel-tourville.com/ although the view (from terrace) may be more of Les Invalides than the Tower, not sure. good luck |
There used to be a Hilton that had a great view of the Eiffel Tower from some of the rooms. We stayed there almost five years ago. It changed hands though, and I'm not sure what it's called now.

There have been mentions here, if I remember correctly, of apartments with views/partial views
|
If 600 euro plus a night doesn't scare you, I saw an article in the paper on Sunday about a Shangra La (hotel group?) hotel where the author was talking about the great ET view from their room...

From what I can tell, the former Hilton Tour Eiffel that I mentioned above is now called the Pullam Paris Tour Eiffel. Our room had a wonderful view of the Eiffel Tower.

it is true that many hotel discribe themselves as "overlooking" the eiffel but you cannot really see the Eiffel, maybe just the tip.
We were at hotel Jardins d'Eiffel which was pretty good. i found it on a nice blog (it seems pretty new to me because some buttons dont work and stuff like that.. maybe they fixed it. link: http://www.bookaview.com) where they give grades to hotels according to the view. Another great hotel that my aunt recommended me was Plaza Athenee. A bit expensive for me.. |

It's now the Pullman Tour Eiffel. I've stayed there too... it's the closest you'll get to the tower and the rooms at the front do have great views. |
It's not a REALLY good hotel, but a nice enough hotel, with a room that has a partial tower view.

The old Hilton - now Pullman has some rooms with views of the Tour eiffel - for which I bleive they charge a premium.
Have no idea what the hotel is like - but I know when I stayed there - my first trip to europe more than 30 years ago - it was just OK - basic for a Hilton. Also, the area isn't really convenient for much of anything else. |
Gosh, sorry for the typo. Yes, the Pullman. I agree that the area wasn't the most pleasant. Our room was nice, but that might have had to do with our Hilton status and the fact that is was a special anniversary. The view was fabulous.
