My husband & I and 13 yr. old daughter stayed in the Hotel Windsor and were very happy with it. Good location, very clean, nice garden, helpful staff, nice top floor with gym and streamroom. Would suggest you eat breakfast elsewhere though, because it was expensive and not so good. Otherwise, we thought it was a nice place and very good value.

We stayed at the Hotel Windsor this past May. Clean, nice staff, good location. They are very into the zen thing, the rooms are feng shui, and the gardens are really relaxing. They offer a 1 hour massage for 40 euros that was a great bargain, and a terrific massage. Walking distance to the beach, old town, and Place Massena shopping.

Stayed at the Gounod last year (the Splendid's sister hotel), and the staff was great, there is no view though. Their breakfast is very nice it had Scrambled Eggs, Sausages, Cheese, Ham, Crossiants, Rolls, cold cereal, Juice, Tea, Coffee, not huge, but most places don't serve a hot breakfast so this made it nice. The staff was very friendly and even joked a little. I would recommed this hotel to anyone.

By staying at the Gounod we are allowed to use the ammenities at the Splendid, so the first day we decided to go over and use their pool. Their bar is also on the top floor and you need to go through it to get to the rooftop pool. Well needless to say when we inquired at the desk where the pool was located, we were treated like trash, they were terrible and pretended not to speak English (although, at at 4 Star you know they speak it). When we got up to the top floor the bartender was even worse, we ordered some wine and he pretended like we were not even there (there were only 2 other people in the bar) When he finally did acknolwedge us he was rude also. We were both dressed nice; I was wearing a dress, and my husband had Kakies and a Polo shirt so it was not like we walked in there with holey jeans and t-shirts. I would never recommend that someone stay at this hotel, we never went back. In fact every night (because of staying at their sister hotel) we had a menu from the Splendid's restraunt under our door with a discounted special for those staying at the hotel; eventhough the food sounded good I was not willing to be treated like that again when I could easily go to the old city and have great food from people who were glad to serve me.
PS: We are staying at the Windsor this year, because of the view of their garden and their reputation for being friendly. If it wasn't for the beautiful garden they have I would be at the Gounoud again this year.
