hotel villa brunella or hotel luna
Hello -
Please help me pick between the Brunella or the Luna for 5 days in August - rates are about the same; which is better, nicer rooms and pool, etc. Thanks.

OP - Thanks - we have reserved at the Brunella a junior suite with a sea view "through the trees", as they describe it. Not sure what that means - do we have a terrace? How good/bad is the view? Etc.

We had a junior suite....fantastic! HUGE terrace with table and chairs, beds and parasol..lovely and peaceful too. Suite was massive with two bathrooms, in Italian style, with wonderful fresh flowers changed daily...promise you will love it...I am jealous!

We stayed at Hotel Luna with our kids. We had gorgeous rooms overlooking the famous rocks of I Fariglioni, and were very pleased with the great location of the hotel ( only a few minutes walk from the main piazzetta). The hotel is set in a lemon grove and garden, and while it is close to the main shopping street of Capri, you feel worlds away.
Also, if it matters, it has an Olympic-sized pool in the garden. Unbelievably, you have to pay for chairs at the pool, but it is a very lovely spot for a couple hours on a hot afternoon.
We had dinner at Villa Brunella, which is worth doing if for nothing else than the spectacular view. The pool was not as large or enticing as the one at Luna, but I don't know if that's very important to you.
The hotel itself is a little bit further from the main part of town, but not by much. It is located on a very elegant lane, just a block or two down from Casa Morgano, another very nice hotel.
By the way, despite the often bad press, try to visit Blue Grotto! Swimming inside was a highlight of our trip for my kids.
Have a great time!
