Looking for recent visitors to Vienna who can suggest moderately priced hotel/pension for 3 night stay in August near the inner circle.

I stayed at the Carlton Opera on Schickenadergasse, which was within walking distance of the Hofburg, if you don't mind a walk. The street car was close and went directly to the Ring.<BR>The Kettenbr&uuml;cke Ubahn station was a short distance away. From there we could go directly to Sch&ouml;nbrunn Palace or, with a change of trains, the Volksoper was an easy commute. <BR>I thought the hotel was satisfactory in all respects. The room was air conditioned, which can be welcome in the inner city in August, and the hotel offers a very good breakfast with plenty of variety that is included in the room price. Our room was reasonably large; in fact, I think we had at least twice as much space as I have had in Paris.<BR>We enjoyed our stay there.<BR>

Just visited Vienna for the first time, last week. I stayed at the Pension Pertschy, Habsburgergasse 5. It's right off the Graben, just a few blocks away from St. Stephan. About $70 a night. Not sure about August prices.<BR><BR>http://www.pertschy.com/m_start_e.html<BR><BR>Great location - it's not the Four Seasons - but the room was comfortable and the staff very helpful.

Rita--<BR>Pension Pertschy or Pension Nossek are both very nice places with fairly reasonable prices and friendly management. You couldn't go wrong with either one.

I have stayed at both the Hotelpension Arenberg and Hotel Drei Kronen. Arenberg is within the ring and Drei Kronen is just outside the ring near the University. You can see them on nethotels.com

I would recommend the Hotel Admiral off Mariahilferstrasse and a few blocks behind the Museums on the Ringstrasse. Reasonable rates, good location, clean rooms. We've stayed there once and are booked again for May. Check out their website http://www.admiral.co.at/index1.htm.
