Hotel Therese and Hotel Verneuil are owned by the same person. Wow, surprising about the Therese. Never stayed there but did correspond with some nice staff members. Too bad about the rude clerk-that's terrible. Can't say that happened at the Verneuil as all four staff members (Isabelle, Joseph, Nazira, and the breakfast server) I encountered were totally the opposite to that clerk at Therese.
If you aren't hestitant to try it, I suggest you look into booking a deluxe double at the Verneuil which is on the left bank yet just next to the right bank too.

My husband and I stayed in the Hotel Therese last October and had a very nice experience. The room and the bathroom were both comfortable and attractive. I'm surprised about the rude service as we thought the people we dealt with were more than friendly and accommodating, including a restaurant recomendation. That said however, The Fleurie sounds as if it might have more convenient casual eateries, etc. The area around the Therese is quiet but being in a business area seemed a bit more remote. If I had been traveling alone I would have felt a bit more uncomfortable returning later in the evening.

I don't necessarily prefer the left or right bank, but do prefer being somewhat closer to the river for easy navigation and beautiful scenery especially in the evening.

Enjoy your trip, the more you know before you go the more you will get out of it. Just be careful not to miss the essence of Paris by trying to fit too much into the time you have. Good Luck!

We have friends that have stayed at the Fleurie several times and we have walked by it, but never did go in. It's in a really great location.

I meant to add that it is about a two minute walk from the Odeon Metro, and about half a short block off Blv'd Ste. Germaine on a quiet street.

Hi
also often highly recommended in the 6th, and in your price range or a bit less, is the Grand Hotel des Balcons. You can search on that one here or at
tripadvisor.com
