Hotel suggestions Spain

We are booking our hotels for our Spain trip in May and are stuck between a few for Madrid and Granada. We want luxury for Madrid and then something charming and romantic for Granada. Any suggestions on the below?

Madrid
Westin Palace
AC Santo Maura Autograph Collection
Gran Melia Palacio de las Duques

Granada
Hotel Casa 1800 Granada
Santa Isabel La Real
Hospes Palacio de Los Patos
Solar Montes Claro
Carmen de la Alcubilla del Caracol

Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

I really liked my stay at the Westin Palace a number of years ago. It's located right in the center of things, near the Prado, and you can get some pretty good value-added amenities through Virtuoso: https://www.virtuoso.com/hotels/6164...d#.WJYOshjMwvo

Same deal with Hospes Palacio de Los Patos: https://www.virtuoso.com/hotels/6163...s#.WJYO6RjMwvo

Madrid- we loved our recent stay in Madrid at The Principal. It is a design hotel, newly refurbished, easily walkable to the museums, great staff.

Madrid - the Palace, the Ritz, the Wellington

I've stayed at Santo Maura. A little far out. My other big recollection is that when housekeeping is cleaning you can hear loud door bangs constantly :). I'd pick one of your other two as they have a better location

Madrid has a few good luxury options to choose from, depending on your style. The Ritz is classic old world luxury, as is the Wellington. The Westin is somewhat less, but popular with a certain type of person. The Principle is newer and well worth consideration. There are others close in including the AC Palacio del Retiro and Adler.

In Granada, the Casa 1800 isn't bad.
