Scatcat - yes, I know the feeling of dragging luggage up a lot of stairs. What about Hotel Metropole so you don't have to drag luggage?

I haven't tried there, but I think I will. I really liked the Centrale but oh, the steps. We had dinner at the Metropole and it was very good.

You could probably ask the folks at Don Alfonso if they would arrange for your transfers from NAP and to Positano.

So lisa; If you do stay at the Hotel Florence, try to secure the adjoining rooms on the second floor with the large balcony. Jill mentioned the restaurant with the vines, well the balcony is looking at the restaurant and then the lake. There is a road between the hotel and the restaurant/lake, but it was no distraction for us. Richard
