Hotel Steps - Positano

I am concerned about all the steps (74) to reach our hotel in Positano.
Can anyone recommend accommodations in Positano with less steps to climb to access our hotel.
Grazie Mille.

What's your price range? What type of accomodations are you looking for?

What hotel are you staying at? There are a few closer to the water, but climbing is inevitable in Positano as it is set into the cliffs. 74 steps are much easier when fortified with a gelato for the climb.

We are searching for a moderately priced accommodations. Around 150Euros.
We are considering the Villa Rosa, but they have 74 steps. I am searching for a hotel that has less steps to climb.

You can't avoid steps in Positano. The road only goes about 1/4 of the way down the hill. Most of the big restaurants and shops are towards the bottom of the town (although many great smaller places are all up and down the streets. If your hotel is towards the bottom you will have to walk all the way down, and then walk back when leaving. If it's more in the middle you'll probably have some walking every day.

I stayed at the Eden Roc, a nice, new hotel alond the road at the top of the town. The hotel was nice and moderately priced. However, there isn't much right by the hotel. You have to start walking down the road (and steps) towards the coast to get to any shops, restaurants, activities, etc.

Positano is absolutely beautiful and well worth the trip. but you will definitely do a lot of walking up and down hills and steps.

Try some of the hotels on the other little beach. There is a Best Western that I am told doesn't require a lot of steps that I believe is in your price range and it is supposed to have a good restaurant.

The hotel that WT refers to is Hotel Pasitea. It's about 1/3 down Via Pasitea fromt S163, which is the Amalfi Drive. We stayed there in may and were very pleased. Entrance is right off street, they have parking and local bus stops two doors away. You can walk or not, your choice. Rooms are very nice with terraces facing water. No restaurant, but rate includes breakfast.. Two good restaurants nearby, Il Fornillo and Il Grottino Azzuro. Look mit up on Italyby.com or ITWG.com.
