Hotel Steigenberger Bellerive au Lac in Zurich

Has anyone stayed at this hotel? I am booked to stay here in a couple of weeks and wondering about it's location. Also, any tips on fun things to do in Zurich?

Hi panzano,

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be very hellpful for you --

I just wanted to say that I had booked the Bellerive for one of my trips (had to cancel that trip, unfortunately). I chose the Bellerive because it had lakeviews (I'm a real sucker for lakeview rooms), because it was close to the opera, and because I have stayed at another Steigenberger and loved their management. I think the location is very good -- I felt that I could walk anywhere in Zurich from there.

And also I'm going to be no help at all for hints on fun things to do in Zurich, as I usually stay in a suburb and visit a friend. But I can tell you that Cicerone, who used to live in Zurich, has posted here a bunch of times about things to do in Zurich. I would do a text search here to find some of those threads. Also take a minute to look through the Fodors "Destinations" here at this site.

I would be very interested in your trip report after your stay!

Hope some others see this & respond!

In case anyone else is looking into this hotel...
The location was great. It was easy to walk around and right across the street from the lake. The breakfast was very good and included with the rooms. The service wasn't the greatest, not bad, but didn't go above and beyond. The bed and sheets were really comfortable, but the room was kind of stark (no rug on the wood floors.) The internet cost 40 swiss francs a day!! It wasn't through the hotel though, but through Swiss Com. I would stay there again, but the hotel to the left of it (Hotel Eden Au Lac) looked amazing!!

Hi panzano,

Thanks so much for coming back and posting about this hotel. Wow, I'll have to take a look at the Eden.

Thanks again!
